What You’ll Do
New Paradigm For Education (NPFE) seeks a Human Resources Team Member to serve as a key member of the Human Resources team, supporting our network on a range of human resources needs. The individual in this role will perform a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services.
There is a possibility of working on a contract basis for this position.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required
2 years human resource experience, experience in a school environment highly preferred
Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices
Demonstrated ability to be coachable and trainable for cross-training/development within the HR function in preparation for future progression
Strong technology proficiency, including experience leveraging HR systems, HRIS software, digital tools (Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite), and emerging technologies such as AI to improve efficiency and accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong prioritization skills
Demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Duties & Responsibilities
We are seeking an individual to join our team who will complement the experience and skill sets of our current Human Resources staff. The ideal candidate will have experience performing the duties and responsibilities outlined below. Final responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Leave Administration (FMLA & Other Leaves)
Administering FMLA, medical leave, and other protected leave programs, including eligibility determination, documentation, tracking, and communication with employees and supervisors
Ensuring compliance with federal and state leave regulations and maintaining required documentation
Serving as the primary point of contact for employees needing leave guidance
Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment, and Claims Management
Managing workers’ compensation claims, including incident reporting, communication with the carrier, and return-to-work coordination
Supporting unemployment claim processing, gathering documentation, and representing the organization as needed
Monitoring trends and collaborating with leadership to support safe workplace practices
Enrollment & Benefits
Supporting annual enrollment cycles (benefits, onboarding, and credentialing processes)
Supporting benefit enrollment of mid-year hires
Manage employee benefits programs, providing guidance and support on enrollment, claims, and benefit inquires
Conducting monthly benefit reconciliation and serving as an organizational representative during open enrollment
Ongoing Employee Relations
Serve as a point of contact for employees and management on employee relations issues, addressing concerns, complaints, and workplace conflicts
Supporting progressive discipline processes by documenting incidents, preparing paperwork, and ensuring consistent application of policies
Provide guidance and counsel to managers on employee behavior, performance issues, and resolving disputes constructively
Investigate employee grievances and complaints, document findings, and recommend appropriate actions in alignment with NPFE’s policies and applicable labor laws
Maintain accurate records of employee relations issues, investigations, and resolutions, ensuring compliance with record-keeping regulations
Processing employee status changes and ensuring accurate job/pay updates
Responding to employment verifications, wage information requests, and other inquiries
Maintaining confidentiality of all HR, payroll, and PHI information
Other ancillary duties as needed or assigned.
