The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that ESP’s key business principles are adhered to and are actively implemented.

Purpose Statement
The primary purpose of the Project Manager is to ensure that ESP’s project delivery is effective and meets or exceeds the requirements of the contractor. Accountable for the project from the end of the sales cycle through to completion. Effectively manage all sub-contractors (when required) and work closely with detailing and fabrication to deliver steel packages in a timely manner. Ensure that the contractors representatives, the ESP management team and any associated sub-contractors are communicated with in a timely and professional manner.
Job Scope
The Project Manager has the following accountabilities:
- Play an active part in the Safe work performance of the Team.
- Review and monitor assigned job folders and ensure that all job information and contacts are recorded in FabSuite.
- Review purchase orders to sub-contractors and ensure they are aware of any scheduled requirements for drawings and delivery.
- Play an active part in daily scheduling meetings including communication of initial job schedule to the customer.
- Work closely with the Detailing Manager to ensure that all approval drawings are submitted in a timely manner and that approved drawings are received in the timeframes required. Communicate with customers where delays in returning drawings will impact steel delivery dates.
- Ensure that revisions to contract plans are circulated internally and that all sub-contractors are aware of any changes that are pertinent to the services they provide.
- Take responsibility for the logging and distribution of all approval drawings from / to the relevant sub-contractors and ensure that any questions or re-submittals are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all change orders are priced and communicated to the contractor for additional material or drawing revisions. Ensure that any backcharges are thoroughly investigated and negotiated when applicable.
- Review sub-contracts and / or purchase orders from customers to ensure that pricing and tax are correct. Highlight any areas of concern or unusual requests. Ensure that there are no conflicts between our bid document and the sub-contract.
- Work closely with ESP’s Plant Manager, ESP’s sub-contractors and the customer’s site Superintendent to establish the steel delivery schedule. Ensure that any scheduling requests are communicated to the relevant internal departments or sub-contractors.
- Maintain close contact with customer’s project manager and superintendent to ensure that any site-specific requirements or changes to job schedule are communicated.
- Play an active part in the resolution of any on-site issues that may arise. Ensure that the most cost effective solution is put in place and that a satisfactory conclusion is reached.
- Work closely with the Accounting to ensure that invoicing is carried out in a timely manner and that any customer specific requirements are adhered to.
