Host/Hostess(Hourly +Tips)

New Oxford Family Diner is a busy, family-style restaurant looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Host/Hostess to join our team full-time. This position is often the first and last interaction our guests have with us, so we are looking for someone who is welcoming, professional, and able to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and make them feel welcome
• Seat guests efficiently while following the restaurant’s seating rotation
• Manage the waitlist during busy periods
• Answer phones professionally and assist with basic customer questions
• Assist with takeout orders and directing guests as needed
• Keep the entrance, host stand, menus, and waiting area clean and organized
• Communicate clearly with servers, management, and other staff
• Help maintain an organized flow of guests throughout the dining room
• Assist with light cleaning, restocking, and other front-of-house duties when needed
• Provide friendly and professional customer service at all times

Requirements

• Must be dependable, punctual, and professional
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to stay organized and multitask during busy periods
• Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of guests
• Must be able to work well with servers, management, and other team members
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced restaurant environment
• Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required
• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
• We are looking for someone who is reliable, personable, and able to take initiative while helping create a welcoming and organized experience for every guest who walks through our doors.
