What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at New Millennium Surgery Center, PLLC?
```Duties```
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule and confirm appointments, both in-person and over the phone
- Collect patient information and update electronic medical records
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
```Experience```
- Previous experience in a medical administrative support role or as a medical receptionist is required
- Familiarity with medical billing is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems required, (SIS) is desired
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage appointments and paperwork efficiently
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required and procedures is beneficial
