SUMMARY:
The Assistant Athletic Coach supports the athletic program by recruiting and developing student-athletes, assisting with coaching and training, organizing practices, and promoting academic and athletic excellence. This role helps ensure student-athletes perform at a high level while maintaining strong academic performance and adhering to institutional and athletic conference regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Recruit high-quality student-athletes to participate in the university’s athletic programs.
· Support the academic success of student-athletes in both classroom and athletic environments.
· Assist in developing training programs designed to maximize student-athletes’ performance and competitive success.
· Monitor and evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback and guidance.
· Deliver effective coaching instruction, motivation, and mentorship to student-athletes.
· Assist in designing and implementing practice plans, drills, and strategies for athletic events.
· Promote student-athlete engagement within academic and social networks.
· Supervise athletic events and ensure compliance with sportsmanship and safety standards.
· Assist with game management during home events when not competing.
· Organize and supervise community service activities involving student-athletes.
· Supervise student-athletes during road trips and travel for competitions.
· Schedule and coordinate non-conference athletic competitions.
· Assist in planning and organizing events that enhance the student-athlete experience and support the athletic department.
· Ensure compliance with all institutional policies and applicable athletic association regulations.

Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
Experience
· Prior coaching or collegiate athletic experience preferred.
· Experience working with student-athletes in an educational environment.
Preferred Skills:
Collegiate playing or coaching experience
