The first School of Social Work in New Mexico and the US Southwest, the Facundo Valdez School of Social Work (FVSSW) uplifts its mission to educate students to practice social work competently with the diverse, multicultural populations of New Mexico and the Southwest across its curricula and student engagement approaches. The FVSSW has a primary commitment to Hispanic and Native American people. Our curriculum grounds students in core professional social work values, skills and ethical principles, and provides a focused awareness and respect for cultural differences and how poverty affects the well-being of people in the region. The DSW Program Coordinator will apply this context of cultural and regional responsiveness to inform the development and implementation of New Mexico’s f irst Doctor of Social Work Practice degree program. The aim of this program is to address a workforce preparation gap through expanding leadership and administration skills for service to tribal and state agencies, community organizations, and higher education institutions with foci in Bilingual/Bicultural and Native American social work practice. The DSW Program Coordinator is directly supervised by the FVSSW Dean and works in close collaboration with the FVSSW faculty and special projects including the Native American Social Work Studies Institute and Center for Excellence in Social Work. This position is responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited DSW Program. This position also conducts research, develops curricula, and prepares presentations for the NMHU Executive Leadership, Faculty Senate, Faculty Affairs Committee, and Board of Regents. the FVSSW faculty and special projects including the Native American Social Work Studies Institute and Center for Excellence in Social Work. Qualifications:

DSW or PhD and Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program. Held social work tenured/tenure-seeking or college/teaching faculty role for a minimum of three years

Preferred Qualifications

Skills and experience in leadership and administration; Mixed methods research, with focus in Indigenous research methods; Curricular design and development, including syllabus design; Quality Matters certification; Online course development; Academic and professional writing skills; Engaging and building relationships with diverse students, faculty, community, organizational, agency and university stakeholders; Leadership in a shared governance structure; Project planning, including goal and benchmark development, and program outcomes evaluation; Convening meetings; Executive level presentations

Salary : $56,000 - $75,000
