Boys & Girls Club Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator oversees the delivery of youth programs across areas such as education, arts, recreation, health & wellness, leadership, and career development. They ensure programs are safe, engaging, and aligned with Boys &Girls Club youth development outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Development & Program Delivery
Create an environment that supports positive youth development, safety, and participation.
Facilitate daily activities and special events across multiple program areas (e.g., STEM, arts, recreation, leadership).
Provide guidance, mentorship, and role modeling to youth ages 6–18.
Program Planning & Evaluation
Plan, develop, and implement programs aligned with Club goals and member needs.
Monitor and evaluate program quality, participation, and outcomes.
Maintain accurate records, including attendance, participation data, and evaluation metrics.
Safety & Facility Management
Ensure program spaces are safe, clean, and well-equipped.
Enforce Club rules, behavior expectations, and safety procedures.
Report facility or equipment issues as needed.
Staff & Volunteer Support
Support, supervise, or coordinate Youth Development Professionals,volunteers, and program assistants.
Provide feedback, help with training, and ensure staff understand program standards.
Communication & Community Engagement
Maintain positive relationships with Club members, families, school partners,and community organizations.
Promote programs through schedules, announcements, and events.
Additional Duties
Support special events, field trips, and national Boys & Girls Club initiatives (e.g., Keystone, Torch Club).
Other duties as assigned.
May be required to drive a Club van or assist with transportation.
Qualifications
Experience: 3-4 years of experience working with youth or equivalent.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or some college/equivalent experience.
Certifications: Must have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications, Food Handlers Certification, Defensive Driving Certification,and other certifications required by BGCA.
Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and group management skills.
Working Conditions
Environment: Dynamic club environment with high activity levels.
Physical: Ability to interact with youth in physical activities and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
