What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contingent Faculty - Instructor of First Year Experience position at New Mexico Highlands University?
The contingent Faculty instructor will teach sections of FYEX 1110 First Year Seminar, designed to integrate first-year students into higher education and NMHU. This is a 1 credit course for a total salary of $1050 for the Fall 2025 semester.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duty is effective teaching of college-level student success courses. This includes developing and revising instructional materials; presenting material in an organized manner; evaluating student learning; maintaining student records; teaching at the main campus; working with an integrated Peer Mentor student work-study; participating in Adjunct Professional Development activities
Minimum Qualifications
Successful candidates must have a master’s degree or be enrolled in a master’s degree seeking program.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in any field, or currently enrolled in a master’s degree seeking college program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. NMHU campus, online platforms, and resources.
