The New Mexico Behavioral Health institute - Meadows Long term Facility is located on Las Vegas, New Mexico. It provides long-term and skilled nursing service. the facility has 162 nursing home, skilled-nursing living beds. Services for residents are provided 24/7, focusing on maintaining or improving their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being under a personalized plan of care developed by licensed health professionals.

Provide direct personal care and related support to long-term care facility residents to maintain quality care services and provide an optimum quality of life. Ensures adherence to Department of Health and facility policies and procedures.

The primary customers are the future residents and now are unable to live in their respective communities due to failing health.
Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate would have:
High School Diploma and one (1) year of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.

How does it get done?
- Answer patient call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine patients' needs.
- Turn or reposition bedridden patients.
- Provide physical support to assist patients to perform daily living activities, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.
- Review patients' dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure patient receives appropriate diet.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake or urinary and fecal output, reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.

Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate would have:
- The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
- The willingness to handle difficult residents with patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
- The ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.

Employment Requirements
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Must obtain a Defensive Driver Certificate
- SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONS--This position ls designated as safely sensitive. Employment Is subject to pre-employment and random testing. Employment ls subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results.
