Why does the job exist?
The position will directly oversee and manage the direct support staff that provides services to persons who have an intellectual and developmental disability and are residing at our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). As the supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring the health and safety of the persons served in the ICF. The house supervisor is responsible for making staff assignments, auditing documentation, providing training to staff, observing resident behavior, participating as a member to the person's Team, as well as, providing highly skilled services to persons who have behavioral issues and have been determined to be dangerous to self or others. LLCP has three (3) shifts; 12am-8am, 8am-4pm, and 4pm-12am. These positions will be assigned to one of these shifts and will be required to work weekends and Holidays.
How does it get done?
The House Supervisor is responsible for assigning staff assignments, auditing documentation, providing training to staff, observing resident behavior, and participating as a member to the persons Team, as well as, providing highly skilled services to persons who have behavioral issues and have been determined to be dangerous to self or others.
Who are the customers?
Our customers include adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with a criminal history, members of their support teams, all Los Lunas Community Program (LLCP) staff, and other stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate
Experience as a Supervisor.
Experience Working With People With Developmental Disabilities.
Experience working with people who display challenging behaviors.
Experience with creating and managing schedules, documentation, training and monitoring resident behaviors.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
This position is designated safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state laws, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment is subject to criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Certification from the State of New Mexico or pass and receive a Defensive Driving Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) course.
Working Conditions
Position requires the ability to lift/push/transfer and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance and over 100 pounds with assistance. The incumbent may be exposed to unpredictable violent behavior of the resident. Daily driving is required to meet the needs of the program. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching are essential functions of this job.
