New Mexico Department of Health's Turquoise Lodge Hospital is a facility that provides substance abuse treatment services to New Mexico residents. We specialize in medical detoxification, social rehabilitation services, and Intensive Outpatient services.
The Financial Management Bureau oversees the facility budget, processes payments and purchases.
Why does the job exist?
The purpose of the position is to support Turquoise Lodge Hospital by processing financial documents for purchases and timely payments to vendors by reviewing financial documents for accuracy and approvals. This includes requisition creation, obtaining necessary documentation for purchases, contracts, and budget tracking. Document management requires tracking, monitoring, requesting supporting documentation and tracking on MS Office software. This position will also assist with hospital, maintenance, and food inventory.
How does it get done?
SHARE Financial is used extensively for the tracking and monitoring of budgets, verifying expenditures per grant period, assuring accurate account codes and fiscal year federal spend down. SHARE Financial is also used for the financial and accounting reports and tracking including requisitions, purchase orders, payments, travel, encumbrances, journal entries, etc. Microsoft Excel (and using pivot tables) is also used extensively along with SHARE reporting in gathering data from programs for monthly, quarterly, and annual data reports. Sage PeachTree is used for inventory tracking. The duties required by this position are continual, time-sensitive, and contribute significantly to the overall fiscal and budgetary compliance of the program.
Who are the customers?
Medical, clinical, administrative and maintenance teams that ensure the safety of adult patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders while in treatment.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
High School diploma or Equivalency and six (6) months experience in bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Successful completion of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer to include working with computers, faxes, copiers and printers, and phone usage with extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION, MONDAY - FRIDAY.
