Job Title: NMAMA School Food Service Aide
Reports To: Executive Director/Principal or Food Service Manager
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time / Classified Support Staff
Job Summary:
The NMAMA School Food Service Aide assists in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of
meals in accordance with health and safety regulations. This role supports daily food service
operations to ensure students receive nutritious meals in a clean, efficient, and friendly
environment.
Key Responsibilities:
? Assist in preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, snacks, or other school meals
? Set up and break down food service stations, serving lines, and dining areas
? Follow proper portion control and food safety standards during meal service
? Wash dishes, clean kitchen equipment, and sanitize food preparation and dining areas
? Receive, store, and stock food and supplies following inventory procedures
? Assist with cashiering or point-of-sale systems, if required
? Interact positively with students and staff, ensuring a welcoming environment
? Follow all district, state, and federal health regulations and nutrition program guidelines
? Report safety, sanitation, or equipment issues to the Food Service Manager
? Attend a minimum of 3 out of school functions, one of which must be graduation
? Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Principal
Qualifications:
? High school diploma or equivalent preferred
? Previous food service or kitchen experience (preferred but not required)
? Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures
? Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and work in a fast-paced
environment
? Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
? Dependable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructions
? Willingness to complete required food safety training (e.g., ServSafe)
