Are you passionate about effectively crafting social media content through compelling visual storytelling and videos? New Life Serenity Center seeks dedicated volunteers to join our growing social media team.
These roles have different weekly tasks and goals but will work very closely with one another. You will be managing either our Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn accounts with two areas of focus
Content Creation
- 2 unique posts per week using platform-optimized formats
- Contribute and adhere to a posting schedule at least 1 month in advance so you can share what you plan to post
- Create a list of SEO-optimized hashtags and profile tags that should be the baseline for each post
- Contribute to the creation of general guidelines for types of content we have posted in the past and what we may want to incorporate into the future
- Reply to all direct messages within 24 hours
- Like all comments and respond to important comments
- Create general guidelines for effective ways to respond/engage with our community- what are frequently asked questions and their appropriate response?
- Collaborate with Executive Director and Social Media Coordinator to share community insights
- Identify, report, and remove all spam content
Deliver measurable results
- Growing our following by 1k during a six or twelve-month position
- Increase visibility and engagement on a realistic scale
- Join one effective engagement group with accounts over 50k
- Check in with the team about ongoing social media campaigns and come up with ideas for continuing them into the future
- Be creative and contribute something new and fun to pitch the team!
- Experience or a strong interest in social media management, content creation, or online communications.
- Excellent writing, creativity, and communication skills.
- Availability during EST office hours for virtual meetings and collaboration.
- A high level of confidentiality and respect for sensitive information.
- Familiarity with research, analytics, or online engagement strategies is a plus.
- Understanding of non-profit causes, social media for advocacy, or fundraising best practices is an asset but not required.
- Training Receive 3-5 hours of initial orientation and training to get you started, plus ongoing mentorship, collaboration, and regular check-ins to help you shine in your role.
