New Lebanon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the daily maintenance and physical plant operations of our skilled nursing facility.
The Maintenance Director plays an essential role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be organized, responsive, and capable of balancing routine maintenance, preventative care, regulatory requirements, and urgent repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of the facility, grounds, equipment, and building systems
Perform and coordinate routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections
Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, local, Life Safety Code, and healthcare regulations
Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and facility inspections
Monitor HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, emergency systems, and other essential equipment
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and required documentation
Respond promptly to work orders and urgent maintenance concerns
Coordinate and oversee outside vendors, contractors, and service providers
Manage departmental supplies, expenses, and maintenance-related projects
Support emergency preparedness planning and drills
Lead and supervise maintenance department employees, as applicable
Collaborate with facility leadership and department heads to identify and resolve safety or maintenance concerns
Participate in the facility’s on-call rotation and respond to emergencies when needed
Qualifications
Previous maintenance experience required; healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience strongly preferred
Prior supervisory or department leadership experience preferred
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance
Familiarity with Life Safety Code, OSHA, and healthcare regulatory requirements is preferred
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete projects in a timely manner
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working with tools and equipment
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must successfully complete all required background checks and employment screenings
