Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate, motivated individuals to join our team as Recreation Therapy Providers. This contractor role is ideal for professionals with experience working with children.
Recreation Therapy Providers work 1:1 with children in their homes and communities to deliver structured, goal-based recreational activities. Sessions may include: outdoor adventures, sports, arts & crafts, games, social skill-building, life skills practice, and sensory-friendly activities.
You will follow individualized goals and help children increase independence, strengthen coping skills, build confidence, and engage meaningfully in their communities.

Hours

Qualifications
✔ Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or other qualifying degree
✔ Ability to engage clients of all ages and functioning levels in recreational activity in order to restore, remediate and rehabilitate
✔ Proficiency in computer use, independent organization and self-management, and communication skills
Responsibilities
✔ Perform thorough evaluations to assess clients’ individual needs of each client and set measurable objectives.
✔ Plan, organize, and facilitate recreational activities/interventions intended to improve physical, cognitive, emotional, and social functioning, as well as leisure education/skill development.
✔ Design community reintegration activities to assist the client receiving services.
✔ Monitor progress and adjust to treatment plan accordingly.
✔ Document weekly progress for clients’ treatment plans, recognize/initiate discharge and discharge planning as needed.
✔ Communicate with family members treatment plan goals, objectives, and progress
✔ Assist the client in understanding their strengths, needs, and limitations.
✔ Communicate with community organizations, acting as a liaison, to identify community resources (i.e. transportation, programming, etc.), to facilitate and promote an active leisure lifestyle for each client.
✔ Apply professional knowledge and skills in accordance with accepted standards of clinical practice.
✔ Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics.
✔ Attend, participate in, and/or conduct internal staff development programs. Obtain continuing education as required by company policy. Maintain and enhance clinical practice skills.
✔ Perform supplemental duties as assigned according to client, office and/or program needs.
Requirements
- Experience working with children/teens or individuals with disabilities
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within your service area
- Ability to work independently and follow activity plans
- Must have regular access to a computer
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Must pass required background checks
- Willingness to obtain personal liability insurance (contractor requirement)
Preferred but not required:
- Experience in recreation, therapeutic activities, behavior support, or human services
- First Aid/CPR Certification
