About Our Program
New Leaf Recreational Therapy LLC provides individualized recreational therapy services to children and adolescents through the CLTS program. Services take place in the home and community and are designed to help youth develop independence, confidence, and positive life skills through enjoyable and purposeful activities.
Position Summary
We are hiring Recreation Therapy Providers (Independent Contractors) to work directly with children and teens in one-on-one settings. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with youth, prefer flexible scheduling, and want a hands-on position in the community.
Providers lead structured recreational sessions based on each client’s goals. Activities may include games, outdoor activities, sports, creative projects, social skill practice, life skill development, and other therapeutic recreation experiences.
The goal of this role is to help clients improve daily functioning, build coping skills, increase social participation, and become more successful in their home and community environments.

Work Schedule
Hours are flexible and arranged based on the client’s availability.
Most sessions occur after school, evenings, or weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related qualifying field
- Ability to work independently in home and community settings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication
- Ability to adapt activities to different ability levels
Job Duties
- Complete assessments to determine client needs and goals
- Plan and lead recreational therapy activities based on treatment plans
- Support development of social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills
- Encourage participation in community and leisure activities
- Monitor client progress and make adjustments when needed
- Complete weekly documentation and progress notes
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding sessions and progress
- Assist clients in recognizing strengths and improving skills
- Help identify community programs and resources when appropriate
- Follow professional standards and ethical guidelines
- Participate in required trainings or staff meetings
- Perform other related duties as needed
Requirements
- Experience working with children, teens, or individuals with disabilities preferred
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the service area
- Ability to manage your own schedule and work independently
- Access to a computer for documentation
- Must pass background check requirements
- Must obtain personal liability insurance (contractor requirement)
Preferred (Not Required)
- CTRS certification
- First Aid / CPR certification
- Experience in recreation, therapy, or human services
- Experience working in community-based programs
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
