Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, person-centered therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to individual client needs.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on areas including grief, addiction recovery, PTSD care, Depression, Anxiety, and behavior management.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during urgent situations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive case management plans that incorporate clinical principles and medical documentation standards compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize telehealth/hybrid experience to provide remote counseling services while maintaining high-quality patient care and accurate medical records.
- Support clients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder through specialized behavioral therapy techniques and special education strategies.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential with active certification.
- Proven experience in clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings; hospital experience is preferred .
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology related to behavioral health.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities such as autism or developmental delays.
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively while demonstrating excellent crisis management skills.
- Proficiency in medical records management and understanding of HIPAA compliance standards for patient confidentiality.
