About the Role:
New Jersey Center for Oral Surgery is looking for a skilled and dedicated Oral Surgery Team Member – Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team in Caldwell, NJ. Responsibilities:
- Assist oral surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures including extractions, implants, and bone grafting
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and instrument trays
- Monitor and support patient comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Document patient records, treatment notes, and post-operative instructions accurately
- Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment per OSHA and infection control protocols
- Educate patients on post-operative care and answer procedural questions
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a dental or oral surgery assistant strongly preferred
- Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and terminology
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Familiarity with dental radiography and X-ray certification required
- Strong chairside manner with excellent patient communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Team-oriented, reliable, and detail-focused professional
