What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oral Surgery Assistant position at COSA?
Surgical assisting, keeping operating field clear, retracting, suctioning and passing instruments. Perform dental screening and scheduling as necessary. Obtains dental history and/or records from patients, obtain updated health history from patient. Assist with preparing, transporting and positioning and draping patients. Assist in taking intra and extra-oral radiographs. Coordinates with front office to ensure surgeons schedule runs smoothly. Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout the procedure. Maintains dental charts and records dental findings etc. Maintains strict compliance with state, federal and other regulatory bodies such as OSHA, Dental Board, AAOMS, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA as well as HR department. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dental clinic according to OSHA standards. Inventory, pricing and purchasing of supplies including implant fixtures and necessary components.
