Full-Time | In-Person | Healthcare Administration
New Jersey Brain and Spine, located in various locations in NJ, is seeking a compassionate and experienced or equivalent part-time Nurse Practitioner to join our thriving neurosurgery practice. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with a variety of neurosurgical conditions in an outpatient setting.
Job Responsibilities
· Completes and documents accurate history and physicals
· Independently assesses patients, orders applicable diagnostic tests, and formulates treatment plans according to specific brain and spine conditions
· Manages care for post-operative brain and spine patients, which includes, but not limited to incision monitoring, VP shunt evaluation and adjustment as clinically indicated, suture and staple removal, titration and taper of medications
· Fields and triages patient phone calls and secure electronic communications, providing clinical guidance, coordinating care, and escalating concerns appropriately
· Comfortably prescribes schedule II-IV medications as appropriate according to New Jersey state law
· Works collaboratively with attending physicians, other APPs, and supporting medical staff to achieve a reputable standard of care and maintain high patient satisfaction
· Provides support to physicians on their clinic days to aid in patient workflow
· Maintains national board certification, state licensure, and annual CE requirements
· Promotes own professional growth and development in clinical role
· Possesses excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills, creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and a drive to learn and teach
· Utilizes good nursing judgment in clinical decision making and general patient care
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
· Minimum of 3 years working experience as a Nurse Practitioner, neurosurgery, neurology, or orthopedic experience preferred OR new graduate Nurse Practitioner with 5 years of RN experience in neurosurgery
· Minimum of a Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited university
· Board certification by a national nursing certification board, ANCC or AANP
· Active New Jersey APN and CDS licenses
· Active New Jersey DEA license
· BLS
Job Type and Schedule:
· Full-time (30-40 hours, 4-5 days a week)
· On-site 8:30am-5:00pm
· No evenings, weekends, or holidays
· No call requirement
Compensation and Benefits:
· Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
· To be eligible for benefits, all employees must work a minimum of 30 hours weekly
