Utility/General Labor - 1st or 2nd shift

Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for general labor duties, including the proper disposal of all waste materials and recyclable paper products throughout the facility.  Assemble various items including foam, corrugated, and any other material that will be used for certain packaging requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Counting and stacking finished product
• Reading factory orders
• Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment
• Utilizing basic shop math, inspecting
• Accurately completing quality and administrative documents and following directions
• Clean up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap.
• Apply proper load tag
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs
• Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Manufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Knowledge equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
• Read and interpret product layout and production specifications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to wet and humid conditions.
• Exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
