This opportunity is primarily centered around supporting individuals in our SXI/PSA room and in the community. You’ll work closely with people who have significant support needs, helping them engage meaningfully in daily routines, develop life skills, and participate in community experiences. Your work will be impactful, fulfilling, and truly life-changing—for both you and the individuals you support.
What You’ll Do:
As a DSP, you’ll be a mentor, advocate, and direct support provider to individuals with disabilities—especially those with severe multiple impairments or physical and health challenges. You’ll provide support in our SXI/PSA room and during outings into the community. No two days are ever the same, and every interaction makes a difference.
Your role includes:
- Supporting individuals with daily living and self-care skills, including personal hygiene and feeding.
- Providing sensory and mobility support for individuals with physical or medical challenges.
- Assisting with range of motion exercises and the use of adaptive equipment as needed.
- Encouraging engagement in structured and unstructured activities tailored to individual needs and interests.
- Supporting social interaction, communication, and community participation.
- Assisting with transportation and ensuring safety during outings.
- Advocating for dignity, respect, and choice in all areas of life.
- Documenting daily progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Working as part of a collaborative team to maintain a safe, supportive, and enriching environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- A passion for supporting individuals with complex needs—experience is helpful, but not required; we provide training.
- Patience, empathy, and a willingness to learn and adapt to each individual’s needs.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable transportation (valid driver’s license, registration, and insurance).
- Ability to assist with personal care and physical supports, including lifting and transfers.
- A willingness to be actively engaged, flexible, and proactive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Must pass a background check prior to hire.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
