New Horizons is a non-profit organization that has been supporting Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities in Lake Havasu City, AZ for almost 50 years. We pride ourselves on community integration with the support we provide through various programs, which include eight residential settings, day programs, habilitation, and group supported employment.
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with lifelong disabilities to enjoy life by promoting abilities and respecting personal choice. This position specifically covers the overnight shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Direct Support Professional (DSP) Responsibilities:
- Monitor and support members throughout the overnight hours, ensuring safety and well-being.
- Assist with evening and early morning routines, including personal hygiene, bedtime preparations, and morning readiness.
- Perform light housekeeping, meal prep for the following day, and other household tasks during quiet hours.
- Accurately document overnight observations, sleep checks, and any incidents in shift reports.
- Administer and supervise medications as required, following proper procedures.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies or health/safety concerns that arise overnight.
- Ensure individuals are always treated with dignity and consideration, promoting their independence and rights.
-High School Diploma (or equivalent)
-Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
-21 years of age
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
-Must be able to work in all weather conditions, indoors/outdoors
