Apply by April 24, 2026
We are looking for an energetic, creative person who has experience with school-aged kids, can lead a small team, and wants to spend their summer making a difference for homeless children in our community.
About New Hope for Families
New Hope provides emergency shelter for children and the parents who come with them. In addition, we provide top-ranked preschool for shelter residents and the broader community.
Our Mission:
New Hope for Families provides shelter and early learning programs to keep families together and lift every child into a promising future.
About the Shelter
When a family with minor children faces a housing crisis, like sleeping outside or in a vehicle, the shelter team intervenes with emergency overnight shelter. We provide housing-focused case management designed to help families reconnect to affordable housing as quickly as possible. More than 80% of our families do, and it only takes an average of 90 days. We can shelter 12 families at a time, but also divert many more to other safe situations where they can access a new lease.
About The Shelter’s Summer Camp
Each summer, when our residents’ children are out of school, we provide childcare through our Summer Camp. The Summer Camp Team Leader and team of Coordinators plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities like games, crafts, meals, and field trips. New Hope’s Summer Camp serves clients who need childcare to be employed and invites other residents’ children as space is available.
Summer Camp is a weekday camp from 9AM to 4PM. We blend a child-led format with options crafted by our Summer Camp staff. Each day, the staff present options, and allow the children to pick their favorites. Due to the transient nature of our residents, the group may change weekly and often includes between 5 and 15 children.
