JOB SUMMARY:

The Residential Counselor – The successful candidate will assist with daily living activities and provide behavioral support, medication management and crisis intervention in a group home setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides support to clients in the Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and personal care needs
• Provides direct supervision in a group home setting
• Assists with maintenance and upkeep of the group home with the assistance of resident clients
• Plans, leads and supervises client activities
• Provides positive behavioral supports on a daily basis
• Provides input into assessments, conferences and treatment planning
• Organizes and supervises recreational and social activities
• Collects and records data, and completes all required documentation
• Follows policies and procedures for the monitoring of clients' medications
• Intervenes appropriately with clients to prevent, avert or manage crisis situations
• Responsible for ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment and adhering to all safety standards, Federal and State regulations, and corporate policies

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:

• High school diploma or equivalent with one (2) year of work or life experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skill
• Ability to demonstrate respect for individuals with I/DD and their families
• Ability to lift 25 pounds

Certifications :

• Maintains current CPR, AED and First Aid Certification as well as Nurse Safe Training and Fire Training; If the applicant doesn't have all certs, they must obtain certs within 3 months of employment.

• Full-time and Part Time Shifts available (7 days a Week, shifts between 3pm-7am M-F and 8am to 8pm Saturday & Sunday)
