We’re looking for a Multifamily Housing Inspector to help ensure the quality, safety, and long-term viability of properties across our statewide portfolio.
As a Multifamily Housing Inspector, you will play a key part in preserving affordable housing throughout the granite state. In this role, you will:
- Independently plan and conduct thorough, on-site reviews of multifamily properties across New Hampshire, ensuring compliance with program requirements, codes, and standards while applying a sharp eye for detail.
- Collaborate closely with Asset Management to identify and assess physical condition concerns that impact risk, sustainability, and resident safety, including targeted inspections of higher-risk or underperforming properties.
- Administer the third-party Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) inspection process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Turn findings into clear, actionable guidance by preparing concise inspection reports, responding to owner inquiries, and providing practical direction to property owners and management teams on compliance requirements, inspection results, and corrective actions.
To support onboarding and training, the initial months of employment will be conducted in-office. Following this period, remote work may be available on an intermittent basis, as determined by the manager.
Your experience, skills, and education should include:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of building codes and safety regulations and the unique characteristics as applied to multifamily housing inspections. National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) training preferred.
- Ability to understand and interpret federal regulations and state laws related to rental property.
- Strong ability to translate complex information into common terms.
- Confident of abilities to speak with authority and skillfully handle confrontations.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and at least five years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
