Duties
- Develop, monitor, and manage the Township budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Perform fund accounting tasks, including but not limited to tracking and reconciling funds across multiple accounts, journal entries and general ledger management.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., GAAP/IFRS/GASB).
- Collaborate with department heads to review budget proposals and funding requests.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and prepare audit documentation.
- Provide recommendations for improving financial efficiency and resource allocation.
- Generate detailed financial reports for senior management that highlight key insights into budget performance and financial health.
- Support month-end closing processes including ledger review, account reconciliation, and balance sheet verification.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes by leveraging data collection techniques and automation tools.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; a CPA or CFA certification is a plus.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation processes and account reconciliation practices is required.
- Proven experience as a Budget Analyst or in a similar financial analysis role within fund accounting or corporate finance environments.
- Extensive knowledge of government accounting principles including GAAP and technical accounting standards, accounting software (Caselle knowledge is a plus) and financial management systems.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including cash flow analysis, forecasting techniques, cost management strategies, and double entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
