About the Position – Fitness Trainer - Health & Wellness Teacher
The Fitness Trainer - Health & Wellness Teacher works with members through participation in health and wellness living skills and physical exercise, focused on the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and social aspects of wellness. The Health & Wellness Teacher helps support members in all areas of a person’s overall health and vitality, helping to teach members practical life skills and useful self-care practices to incorporate into their daily life.
Your Impact Will Include:
- Lead daily fitness and wellness classes, providing exercise instruction, skills training, and supportive guidance.
- Set up and break down all class spaces and materials each day.
- Track attendance accurately and research any excusals as needed.
- Submit billing and documentation in KIPU with correct formatting and time entries.
- Learn and implement new exercises, techniques, and curriculum from leadership.
- Encourage member engagement to promote safety, connection, and a positive environment.
- Participate in team meetings and supervision to support ongoing professional growth.
- Maintain alignment with treatment plans, uphold KPIs, and ensure a clean, safe class environment.
- Performing additional duties as assigned to support our mission.
Where You’ll Work
- Requires occasional travel to program sites/facilities
- Requires flexibility to respond to emergent situations, after-hour calls, or urgent department needs that arise
- Using standard office equipment, plus plenty of face-to-face interaction.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, or move objects up to 30 pounds
- Some days will require long periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
