What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assembly Worker position at New Flyer?
As a part of the Production Team, a Production Assembly Worker will be responsible for all required assemblies and installations on heavy-duty transit buses in the assigned work area on the production line, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
We are seeking Production Assembly Workers for two different shifts.
Schedule
1st shift - Monday - Friday 7a-3:30p with the possibility of manned Overtime M-Th until 5:30p and every other Saturday (7am-3:30pm).
2nd shift - Monday -Thursday 3pm-1:30am with the possibility of manned Overtime every other Friday (3pm-11:30pm).

What You Will Do
- Performs all installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area on the production line
- Prepares work to be accomplished by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials
- Ensures quality and consistency in installations and/or assemblies within a specified work area
- Be able to work from blueprints, process sheets, and/or written instructions, then build to those specifications while utilizing measurement tools and basic math skills
- Have working knowledge of hand and air tools. Employee is regularly exposed to vibration, and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts
- Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Be able to climb up and down, as well as work using a ladder. Employee will go extended periods of time standing and performing repetitive tasks
- Ensure workstation is kept clean and in safe working condition
- Be present on the job to perform the assigned duties and be able to work overtime which is often required to meet production schedules

Requirements
- Ability to use small hand and power tools repetitively, as well as measuring equipment and tools
- Ability to read and follow intermediate measurements and instructions with a strong mechanical aptitude
- Be a team player, a self-starter and be able to work in a team setting
- Good communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, with excellent time management skills
- You will have to be able to lift at least 50 lbs., but that won't happen frequently. You will also be doing a lot of bending, as well as working above your head sometimes, and there may be times that you will be climbing a ladder. You will also be on your feet the majority of the shift.
- Competitive Wages - $24.20 1st Shift - 1st pay increase at 5 months
- $1.10/hour shift differential for 2nd shift
