Porter/ Mechanic Assistant

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education:   
  • High school degree or equivalent.
• Experience:  
  • 1 year of porter, mechanic assistant, or equivalent experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
• Licensure:  
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Able to pass a drug screen. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Assist Fleet department with general maintenance needs of equipment such as power washing and moving equipment onsite.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and respectful manner.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Safe driving record.
• Other duties as assigned and relevant to position.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:  

• Ability to perform light maintenance on equipment such as the power washer.
• Ability to assist mechanics.
• Ability to assist with moving and inspecting equipment. 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

• Generally, the employee filling this position will be expected to be present at the project location for an 8-hour shift and/or as directed by the Fleet Director or designated representative. 
• Job functions may be carried out in a vast array of environments including but not limited to maintenance facilities, job sites, customer facilities, vehicles, agricultural sites, landfills, end user facilities, etc.
• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
• Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
• The workplace is in a smoke-free environment.  
• PPE is required and must be worn as instructed. 
• Must adhere to all safety requirements.
