Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, loving daily care for infants including feeding, diapering, and soothing
- Plan and implement age-appropriate sensory and developmental activities for infants
- Monitor and document each infant's developmental milestones and daily progress
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment that meets licensing standards
- Communicate openly and regularly with parents and guardians about their child's day and growth
- Follow all health, safety, and childcare regulations and center policies
- Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to support a positive learning environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; Early Childhood Education coursework or degree preferred
- Previous experience working with infants in a childcare or early education setting
- Knowledge of infant developmental stages and age-appropriate learning practices
- Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to pass a background check per Virginia childcare licensing requirements
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for working with infants
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with families
