Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs using diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Provide individual, group, family, and crisis intervention sessions to address a wide range of issues including PTSD, grief, addiction, behavioral challenges, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and gender issues counseling.
- Maintain detailed medical records and document patient progress in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management and coordinate care plans for patients with complex needs such as chronic pain or mental health disorders.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions effectively while adhering to clinical best practices.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to stay current with emerging treatment approaches and ICD coding updates.
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care.
- Strong experience in working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, and special education populations.
- Proficiency in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; CPT coding knowledge is a plus.
- Skilled in conducting intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and patient care planning within outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Knowledge of social work principles combined with experience in addiction counseling, grief counseling, gender issues counseling, and chronic pain management.
- Experience with medical terminology related to behavioral health conditions; ability to interpret medical records effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams; excellent communication skills for engaging clients across diverse backgrounds.
