POSITION TITLE: Assistant Director
LOCATION: Big Lake, MN
TYPE: Full Time Benefits
COMPENSATION: Starting at $45,000/salary. Negotiable, depending on experience and education.
Job Summary:
As an Assistant Director at New Creations Child Care & Learning Center, you’ll help lead a dedicated team of early childhood professionals to deliver high-quality, faith-based education that supports each child’s social, emotional, and academic growth. You’ll be the driving force behind enrollment success, staff development, and regulatory excellence- empowered to make a lasting impact on children, families, and your community.
Key Responsibilities:
Center Operations: Assists in overseeing daily operations, budgets, and compliance with DCYF licensing and Parent Aware standards.
Staff Leadership: Coach a team of educators while fostering a positive, professional culture.
Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families through communication, events, and proactive support.
Program Excellence: Collaborate with leadership to meet organizational goals, grow enrollment, and maintain high-quality programming.

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- No weekends
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 18 years old and Associates Degree in a related field is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Must be Teacher qualified under DCYF Rule 3 Standards. Official transcripts of all post-secondary work required.
- Two to three years of experience as a Teacher or two to three years of leadership experience in related field
- State DHS background check and fingerprints shall determine that the applicant has not been “convicted of a felony... has no criminal record that the commissioner reasonably believes renders the person unsuitable to be employed in a child care center.”
- Certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR completed within 30 days of employment.
- All required DCYF orientation training completed first day of employment
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
With or without reasonable accommodation this position requires:
- Extensive standing and walking; sitting on the floor and on low (12”) chairs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Lifting and carrying children extensively in the infant/toddler program; less frequently in the preschool program, but the children are heavier.
- Pushing children in buggies, strollers, and walking for considerable periods.
- The necessity of being outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to unpleasant odors and fluids caused by vomit (occasional) and bodily elimination.
- Relatively frequent exposure to loud noises (baby crying, toys falling and other common occurrences of children at play).
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
