New College invites applications for the position of Police Communications Operator.
This is a non-sworn law enforcement position operating dispatch phones, radio and computer systems in a public safety communications center involving computerized radio dispatching. A high school diploma or GED.
Prefer one year of appropriate experience which can include college coursework or vocational/technical training. Proficiency in typing. Ability to effectively communicate and function in high stress situations.Will provide certification in NCIC/FCIC computer system and applicant will receive 911 telecommunications certification with training provided within the first year of employment. Some shift work which can include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
A shift differential of $2.00 per hour may be available to employees working 6:00PM – 6:00AM.
