What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Library Assistant position at New College of Florida?
Examples of Duties
This Temporary Library Assistant will perform a variety of library operations at New College of Florida’s Jane Bancroft Cook Library including collections maintenance, circulation desk and assisting with events, exhibits and related activities as assigned. This is a temporary part-time position without benefits. We are looking to staff 2 positions, one position's working hours will be from 8am-4pm Friday-Sunday and one for 4pm-midnight Friday-Sunday.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.
Able to move cartons of books and fully loaded book carts and be able to perform the bending and reaching necessary to shelve library materials. Able to push/pull up to 40 lbs. and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
This position requires a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and one year library or customer service experience.
