What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) for Methadone Program position at New Choices Recovery Center?
Full Time Registered Nurse wanted for Methadone program.
New Choices Recovery Center is looking for a registered nurse who is caring, compassionate, reliable and non judgmental to work in our methadone program. We strive to have a program of excellence where are patients feel seen and cared for and that is a safe environment. The person will need to be flexible and willing to do different tasks including those administrative in nature. Organizational skills and accountability are a must.
- Dispensing methadone, adjusting doses
- Using MAS for setting up taxi rides for patients with Medicaid
- Supervise LPN in dispensing room
- Assist in paperwork required for the transfer of patients both to and from the clinic
- Work closely with county jails to make sure accurate dispensing for those in jail
- Work closely with multidisciplinary team to care for patients
- Assess and monitor patients and communicate with clinicians and the medical director with any concerns about patient behavior, medications etc
- Order and perform tox screens and breathalyzer tests
- Phlebotomy
- Perform any other tasks set forth by the medical director that may be necessary
Requirements include:
- Valid NYS RN license
- Active BLS certificate
- Skills in appropriate medical assessment and documentation
- Ability to work as a part of a team
- Work in addiction medicine is preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
