JOB GOAL: To serve the students and staff nutritious and attractive meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth while helping to advance the mission and vision of New Buffalo Area Schools.
SCHEDULE: As needed on days when kitchen is short staffed.
HOURS: September, 2026 - June 2027 Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 2:30 pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Serv Safe Certification (provided)
Serv Safe Allergen Certification (provided)
Excellent work ethic: punctual, self-starter, team player
Ability to work with children, teens and young adults
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s function require the following:
- Lift, carry, push, or pull moderately heavy objects (at times up to 50 lbs)
- Standing or walking for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate kitchen equipment.
- Carrying, pushing or pulling food trays, carts, material and supplies.
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.
- Bending at the waist
- Hazards include exposure to very hot foods, equipment, and metal objects.
- Exposure to sharp knives, slicers, and cleaning agents.
Salary : $18 - $20
