New beginnings RTC (Residential Treatment Center) is actively interviewing for Direct Care Staff/Caregiver NIGHT SHIFT ONLY (Weekdays, Weekends, full-time and part-time). The Direct Care Specialist would be working in a small group home setting catering to boys between the ages of 7 to 17 with behavioral and emotional needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Caregiving Experience: 1 year experience in a residential childcare, Residential Treatment Center, GRO, foster, or group home setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to adhere to Policies and Procedures.
- Education: High school /GED or equivalent (Preferred)
- Valid Driver's license, & record with not more than one moving violation
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- SAMA or CPI training (Preferred)
- Clear drug, and background check High school or equivalent (Required)
- US work permit or citizen

Job description:
- Direct Care Staff will assist with providing self-help skills training and therapeutic treatments to children that might have behavioral or intellectual issues.
- Direct Care Staff will communicate effectively and professionally with all personnel (including management), children within the home, and with the various case workers/agencies involved in the children's life.
- The ability to carry out multiple assignments with diligence and a positive attitude.
- Direct Care Staff is responsible for cooking, cleaning, laundry, administering medications, transportation, personal care (comb hair, iron clothes, assist with personal hygiene, etc) and other assigned duties concerning the girls.
- Accurately maintain required documentations
- Interact directly with residents to ensure resident’s safety and wellbeing
- Assist in planning and executing group, program and recreational activities.
- Maintain kitchen equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas
- Supervise residents at all times and oversee children assigned including creative play, homework, lots of outside play, attending church with children and other community activities and events
- Maintain work environments free of recognized hazards/Provide care, welfare, safety and security.
- Provide transportation to the residents for appointments, and planned activities as needed in company vehicles.
- Teaching Residents to use the strategies and techniques to avoid harmful behavior, and supporting the Resident’s efforts to progress into a state of self-control;
- Complete a minimum of 50 hours of in-service training hours annually in child care services.
