Duties
- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead the month-end close process related to receivables and payables, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
- Develop and implement policies for effective cash management, treasury operations, and regulatory reporting.
- Supervise accounting teams responsible for transaction recording, account reconciliation, and financial analysis to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Bill.com or similar platforms to manage data entry, reporting, and analysis efficiently.
- Conduct cost accounting analysis, manage budgeting activities, and support forecasting efforts to optimize financial performance.
- Perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in receivables or payables.
- Ensure compliance with governmental standards when applicable.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports related to receivables, payables, cash flow forecasts, and other key metrics for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Extensive experience managing accounting teams within corporate or governmental environments with a focus on accounts receivable/payable functions.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance standards, and non-profit or governmental accounting principles if applicable.
- Proven expertise in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Bill.com or similar platforms; advanced Excel data analysis skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability in managing cash flow, treasury functions, and regulatory reporting processes.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation procedures, and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
- Experience with cost-reporting, auditing and AUP procedures
- Excellent understanding of technical accounting concepts including general ledger management, account analysis, debits & credits.
- Skilled in financial report writing with the ability to interpret complex data into clear insights for decision-making.
- Excellent ability to maintain confidentiality and financial integrity.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of international accounting standards and experience working within diverse regulatory environments is a plus.
