Duties
- Offer immediate emotional support and crisis intervention to crime victims, ensuring they feel heard and supported. We work with children as young as 3, adults as old as 100, and everyone in between.
- Educate victims about their legal rights, available resources, and options for safety and recovery.
- Assist clients in navigating complex systems such as law enforcement, courts, healthcare providers, and social services.
- Advocate on behalf of victims during legal proceedings, medical appointments, and community meetings to ensure their needs are prioritized.
- Develop individualized safety plans and provide referrals to counseling, housing assistance, financial aid, and other supportive services.
- Document all interactions accurately in case management systems while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and service providers to coordinate comprehensive support for victims.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate empathetically and effectively under stressful circumstances.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and case management.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Prior experience in social work, counseling, crisis intervention or advocacy is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of victim rights laws, community resources, and crisis response protocols is a plus.
