Overview
The Direct Care Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including those with autism and other developmental disabilities. Duties
- Assist clients in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences.
- Provide direct support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, fostering independence and self-sufficiency.
- Monitor client behavior and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate case management personnel.
- Ensure compliance with resident rights and advocate for the needs of clients within the care system.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and incident reports as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in direct support and patient care.
Qualifications
- Experience or training in direct support or caregiving is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of care plans, medication administration, and resident rights is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with case management systems and practices related to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism or similar developmental challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with clients and team members.

- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the needs of clients, including potential evening or weekend shifts.
