Fetal Blood Lab Technician

Position Summary: 

Using various lab techniques and lab equipment, fetal blood will be spun into serum to be used for pharmaceutical purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Empty waster blood and dispose of empty bottle properly
• Pour and bottle serum and re-spin as required to meet quality and yield requirements
• Label and box product and samples
• Load and unload stock and supplies
• Clean all equipment used in the production process and the facility itself
• Assist with QC testing, environmental monitoring, shipping, maintenance, and inventory control as required
• Focus on personal hygiene and perform cleaning duties as required to prevent product contamination
• Follow correct gowning procedures at all times
• Keep accurate records of activities performed
• Work according to written procedures (SOP’s) at all times
• Communicate clearly regarding issues
• Maintain professionalism in third-party facilities
• Other tasks as assigned

• Comfort handling biological materials
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
• Lab experience preferred, but not required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Cold, hot, wet, and/or industrial environments
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods
• PPE Required
• Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions
