Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Loan Officer role based in Salt Lake City, UT. The Loan Officer will work directly with prospective and current borrowers to assess their home financing needs, explain available loan products, and guide them through the mortgage application process. Daily responsibilities include originating and structuring loan files, collecting and reviewing borrower documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring loans meet regulatory and company guidelines. The role also involves providing consistent, high-quality customer service, maintaining clear communication with clients and partners, and managing a pipeline of loans from initial contact through closing. The Loan Officer will be expected to meet production goals while upholding New American Funding’s standards for integrity, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a Loan Officer with a strong understanding of residential mortgage products and lending practices.
- Solid foundation in Finance, including the ability to analyze income, assets, credit, and debt-to-income ratios.
- Knowledge of Underwriting principles and guidelines to structure loans that meet investor and regulatory requirements.
- Proven Customer Service skills with a client-focused mindset and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
- Hands-on experience in Loan Origination, including taking applications, managing disclosures, and overseeing files through closing.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with mortgage industry regulations, compliance standards, and NMLS requirements; active mortgage loan originator license preferred or required per state law.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and standard office software; comfort working with digital documentation and workflow tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
