Position Overview:
Eastern Allamakee Community School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher with a Talented and Gifted (TAG) endorsement (or possiblity to obtain) to join our team. This unique role supports a diverse range of learners in a small, close-knit rural school environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative, and passionate about meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Provide direct instruction and support in inclusive and pull-out settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure student success
- Support and enrich advanced learners through TAG programming and differentiation
- Use data to inform instruction and track student progress
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and administration
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives
- Serve as a positive and active member of a small school community
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement required
- TAG endorsement preferred (or possibly obtain)
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and individualized learning
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Experience in a rural or small school setting is a plus
