Position Summary
A first grade teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across core subject areas, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. In our small rural school setting, this position requires a flexible educator who can build strong relationships with students and families, and contribute positively to a close-knit school community.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in all core subject areas (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies).

Align instruction with state standards and district curriculum.

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of all students.
- Plan and deliver intervention strategies and complete progress monitoring.

Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance student learning.
Assessment & Grading:

Develop and administer assessments to monitor student progress.

Provide timely, accurate grading and meaningful feedback to students.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

Use data to inform instruction and support student growth.
Classroom Environment:

Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.

Implement effective classroom management strategies.

Promote student engagement, responsibility, and respect.
Family Communication:

Maintain regular, clear, and professional communication with families regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.

Qualifications
