Vitesse Systems is looking for a Director, Program Management Office – C5ISR to join the team! This role is accountable for the near and long-term C5ISR program strategy, operations, and success. This role will support new business capture in a cross-functional environment, and lead a high performing PMO team. This role serves as a key representative and relationship to our external customers and partners, and is instrumental in driving business and programmatic growth and success.   

This is a multi-site leadership role that can be based in Longmont, Colorado or Harbor City, California. This role may require up to 50% travel.

The Role

The Director of Program Management will collaborate closely with C5ISR leadership to establish and execute both tactical and strategic company goals. The Director of Program Management will oversee the Program Management Team. This role is a primary and critical customer interface, and is accountable for driving and achieving program success and compliance. This role will be a key contributor to forecasting, planning, and implementing big-picture strategy and outcomes.  

Essential Job Functions:  

• Lead day-to-day and long-term program operations across multiple sites and multiple programs
  • Develop, coach, lead, and manage dispersed PMO team to maintain program deliverables 
  • Ensure related KPIs (OTD, VOC, EVM etc.) are maintained and/or improved. 
  • Oversee and improve PMO process and metrics, such as, but not limited to EV for program completion 
  • Respond to and repair program obstacles as appropriate. 
• Responsible and accountable for ensuring program portfolio compliance is achieved by overseeing and verifying flow down of all customer requirements. 
• Serve as the program representative of Vitesse Systems to customers and external partners:
  • Responsible for building and maintain strong customer relationships 
  • Responsible for identifying and building strong vendor and partner relationships 
• Drive, facilitate, and collaborate with customers to define an achievable technical package that meets= mission requirements. 
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on capacity loading throughout the proposal and execution phases
• Support schedule estimates for bids and quotes
• Support the Innovation Center of Excellence, Advanced Planning Team, and Sales with manufacturability decisions
• Research prospective programs to assess needed resources; present plans for execution and implementation
• Collaborate with customer to define an achievable technical package that meets the customer needs
• Research industry market strategies to drive company objectives and build business
• Uphold policies and best practices throughout the company

Qualifications & Experience 

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 12 years of industry experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in space and/or missile and defense applications
• 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in Engineering or Manufacturing disciplines  
  • Proven track record of managing programs and people successfully
• Deep understanding of theC5ISR market
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project Required.
• Passionate about delivering remarkable customer service
• Ability to speak publicly in front of large groups. 
• At least 1 year of Earned Value Management Experience 
• Strong resource and priority management skills
