Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined our significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world. NGM produces approximately 3.5 million ounces of gold a year. The massive mining operation comprises eight mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities and hosts three of Barrick’s Tier One assets: Carlin, Cortez, and Turquoise Ridge. Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair and maintain a diverse light vehicle fleet
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic engine controls
- Diagnose and repair engine failures as needed
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical issues as needed
- Complete routine maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring the availability and safe functioning of light vehicles and support equipment as needed
- Maintain shop areas, tooling and service vehicles to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Perform daily pre-shift work inspections and participate in individual and group hazard identification processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Two (2) plus years of experience in maintenance of mobile, farm, trucking, aircraft, military or support equipment preferred
- Basic knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics required
- Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision required
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required
- Experience repairing light vehicles and support equipment preferred
- Ability to accomplish strenuous physical labor under all weather conditions required
- Lift at least 50 lbs. required
- Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model required
- Ability to be an initial team member in a growing, fast paced environment, and support team in attainment of safety, environmental, equipment protection and production goals with a proven safety record required
- Housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level required
- Good written and verbal communication skills required
