Job Summary

The Latino Outreach Specialist will work with Latino children and their families in Western

Nevada County. This position supports mental health and wellness activities while

promoting cultural competence. The role involves daily contact with clients of all ages and

requires travel to various locations. The Specialist will also maintain regular collaboration

with partners at referring agencies and school districts through coordinated meetings,

online sessions, and one-on-one conversations. As a key member of the PARTNERS

Family Resource team, the Specialist will contribute to building community connections and support systems.

El/La Especialista en Alcance Comunitario Latino trabajará con niños latinos y sus familias en el oeste

del condado de Nevada. Este puesto apoya actividades de salud mental y bienestar, al tiempo que

promueve la competencia cultural. El puesto implica el contacto diario con clientes de todas las edades y

requiere viajar a diversos lugares. El especialista también mantendrá una colaboración regular

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities, may be qualifying. We reserve the right to determine if a candidate meets the qualifications.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with coursework in related field such as education, psychology, suicide prevention, mental health issues.

• Experience teaching adults in a group setting or facilitating groups preferred.

• Two (2) year’s experience working within a Latino community, conducting group trainings, mentoring or similar social services programs.

Other Requirements: These requirements must be met prior to beginning employment and will be requested upon job offer acceptance.

• Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States

• Must possess a valid California Driver’s License

• Must provide proof of automobile insurance coverage

• Fingerprint and Background clearance

• Valid Tuberculosis (TB) clearance
