Job Summary:
The Maintenance and Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring the overall safety, functionality, and appearance of the facility. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment by performing routine preventive maintenance, responding to repair requests, and supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the building and its systems. This includes inventory of, stocking, and ordering facility supplies.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, hands-on individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of maintenance issues in a timely manner. This person must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, vendors, and facility management to ensure all building systems and equipment are operating at peak performance.
This role requires flexibility, as the employee may be called upon to respond to urgent or after-hours & weekend maintenance needs. A commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to facility care are essential qualities for success in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting).
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and trouble shoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and supply inventory.
- Stock and order facility supplies.
- Clean up leaves and landscaping beds. Spraying weeds on hard surfaces.
- Candidates should have working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general mechanical systems. Familiarity with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and building codes is expected.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating system is required. Candidates should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word for documentation and correspondence, Excel for tracking maintenance logs, inventory, and reporting, and Teams for communication and collaboration. The ability to learn and navigate additional software platforms, including work order and facilities management systems, is expected.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, work order systems, and general repairs is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in general building maintenance or a related trade.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Noise Levels: The employee may frequently work in loud environments, including areas with running air compressors, generators, and other heavy or industrial machinery. Appropriate hearing protection may be required in designated areas.
- Temperature Variations: Work may be performed in areas with extreme heat or cold, including rooftops, mechanical rooms, and outdoor settings in varying weather conditions.
- Hazardous Conditions: The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, or moving mechanical parts. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
- Heights: The employee may be required to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or aerial lifts.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- This role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting for extended periods. The employee may be required to lift items up to 50 pounds or more.
