Job Summary:

To fabricate, repair, or sharpen any and all tooling and machine parts used in the processes of the Impact Dept.

Job Functions/Duties:

• Set up and operate various machining and grinding equipment such as mills, lathes, and surface grinders in order to machine or grind components to precise specifications
• Trimmer tooling – upper and lower bead tooling, knives, scrap choppers, mandrels
• Secondary tooling – punch press dies, inspection gauges, jigs, and fixtures
• Repair worn or broken machine parts to support production machining
• Ability to adjust, make program offsets and replace CNC inserts and tooling
• Set-up production CNC machines, change tools and install programs
• Ability to maintain tool and die machinery including filling fluids and lubricants
• Complete any other tasks as assigned by management including compliance with ISO9001/2008 and TS16949 certification guidelines, and the maintenance of a clean and organized work area.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Prefer state tool and die certification or equivalent training and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic tasks on all tool room equipment (lathes, band saw, milling machine, drill press, CNC lathe, surface and ID/OD grinders.
• Knowledge of CNC programming preferred
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
• Should be self motivated and self starter
• Employees will spend the majority of their time standing and/or walking.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing environment - may be dirty, dusty, and loud.
• Employees will work around moving machinery.
